Event Profile
The 7th All India Peoples’ Technology Congress is dedicated to the development of appropriate technology that integrates region-specific technology with new environment-conscious models and a socio-economic system that accepts and uses appropriate technology. All India Peoples’ Technology Congress (AIPTC) is organized in every alternate year in the month of February at Kolkata with an objective to assimilate all the efforts and with an aim to create a national-level database and model of technologies, which are appropriate for the ultimate users. An economically, socially developed and self-reliant society can be created through application of Appropriate Technology for Sustainable Development. The event is organized by FOSET, an organization under Core-Support of Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India. Participation in AIPTC is open to all people, who are interested in the theme of the congress.
The congress will cover following themes:
Field Area Agriculture: Appropriate Post-harvest technologies, Self-reliance in Seeds.
Animal Husbandry: Integrated animal husbandry options to achieve Nutrition Security, Development Planning: Development, displacement, compensation, rehabilitation, Energy: Sustainable Energy Options for power to all, Environment: Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction, Water literacy and resource management, Formation and Communication Technology: Technology Communication for Community Development
Self Help Group: Transfer of technology for SHGs, Rural Business Hubs, Shelter: Eco-friendly sustainable Shelter for economically weaker section.
