The Twelve Days of Christmas are a period of liveliness, marked by parties and celebrations. In the olden days, people would come together and indulge in dance and merrymaking endlessly, all through the twelve days of Christmas. They would play the game of charades and many other games. The first day of Christmas, i.e. 25th December, observes the birth anniversary of Jesus Christ; 26th December is designated ad St. Stephen's Day with January 6, the Feast of Epiphany, being the last day of this celebration. Sending messages on the eve of Christmas was common in the past as well but the medium was notes or cards. Today, emails and text messaging have made things much easier.
