Ingredients:
  • 3/4 Cup of tamarind juice.
  • 2 Cups Rice (Cooked)
  • 1 tsp Urad Dal
  • ¼ Cup Peanuts
  • ¼ Chana Dal
  • ½ Bunch Curry Leaves
  • 2 Green Chilies
  • 4 red chilies
  • 2 tbsp Mustard seeds
  • 2 tsp Turmeric
  • 1 tsp Asafoetida (Hing)
  • ½ Cup Oil
  • 1 tsp Jeera
  • Salt ( to taste)
How to make Andhra Tamarind Rice:
  • Soak the tamarind in one bowl of water.
  • Extract thick juice from it.
  • Take a cooked rice in a bowl add little salt , tamarind juice and mix it well. keep this bowl aside.
  • Take a frying pan add oil to it.
  • Now add Mustard seeds, Channa Dal, Urad Dal, curry leaves, peanuts, red chilies, jeer , Asafoetida, and green chilies fry it for 3 minutes.
  • Mix fried ingredients to the rice bowl.
  • Tamarind rice is ready to eat.
Suggestions:
Serve with coconut chutney.
