  • 1 kg Wheat Flour
  • A pinch of Salt
  • 150 g Sugar
  • 100 g Butter
  • Warm Water (as required)
  • Oil (to fry)
How to make Boortsog:
  • Melt sugar, salt, and butter in warm water. Blend until the sugar and butter are completely dissolved.
  • Add this mixture to flour and knead to make smooth and soft dough for several minutes until no air remains in it.
  • Roll out the dough into 1-1½ inch thick circle.
  • Cut it into different shapes (triangle, star and square, whatever you wish)
  • Make designs over it using knife.
  • Heat enough oil (almost 4 inches deep) and toss in the pieces into batches.
  • Fry until golden brown in color.
  • Serve hot with cheese, butter, or jam.
