  • 250 g medium Prawns
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
  • 2 medium Onions (chopped)
  • 3 Green Chilies (slit)
  • 1 stalk of Curry Leaves
  • ¼ medium Coconut (grated)
  • 2 tsp Red Chili Powder
  • ½ Turmeric Powder
  • Salt (to taste)
  • 3 medium Potatoes
How to make Chemmeen Ularthiyathu:
  • Peel the potatoes and cut into 1 cm pieces.
  • Remove the heads and veins of the prawns.
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Add mustard seeds and stir fry.
  • When the mustard seeds start crackling, add onions, green chilies, curry leaves, and coconut. Fry till the coconut turns brown.
  • Add prawns, potatoes, spices, little water, and salt.
  • Cook on low flame until the gravy has been absorbed and the prawns and potatoes are cooked through.
  • Serve hot.
