  • 1 cup Basmati Rice
  • ½ cup grated Coconut
  • 2 tbsp roasted Sesame Seeds (grounded)
  • 2 Green Chilies (chopped)
  • 1 tbsp Cashew Nuts (broken)
  • 1 tbsp Ghee

    For Tempering:
  • 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
  • 1 Dry Red Chili (slit)
  • ½ tsp Asafoetida Powder
  • 1 tsp Black Gram
  • 1 tsp Bengal Gram
  • 1 sprig of Curry Leaves
  • 1 tbsp Ghee
How to make Coconut Rice:
  • Mix rice with water in a pot and cook until rice turns tender.
  • Heat ghee in a pan and fry cashew nuts until golden brown.
  • Stir in sesame seeds, green chilies and coconut. Cook until the coconut turns deep brown.
  • Mix in fried nuts and rice. Flavor with salt.
  • Heat ghee in a separate pan and fry all the ingredients for tempering.
  • Pour it over the prepared rice.
  • Serve hot with curd.
