  • 2.2 kg Fresh Figs
  • 3/4 cup Water
  • 7 cups Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Lemon Juice
  • 1 small packet Pectin
How to make Fig Jam:
  • First wash the figs under running water. Then cut off the stems and the bottom of the figs.
  • Heat water into a pot and bring it to a boil.
  • Pour the boiling water over figs and leave it for 10 minutes.
  • Drain the water and chop the figs.
  • Now mix a little pectin with about 1/4 cup of sugar.
  • Take a pot and add 3/4 cup water, sugar, rest of the pectin and figs. Heat it to boil, stir occasionally until sugar dissolves.
  • Cook rapidly until thick. Stir frequently to avoid sticking.
  • Add lemon juice and the earlier-made pectin-sugar mixture into the fig mixture and cook 1 minute longer.
  • Pour the mixture into Ball Jars. Allow it to cool and then put it in the refrigerator.
