| • | First wash the figs under running water. Then cut off the stems and the bottom of the figs.

| • | Heat water into a pot and bring it to a boil.

| • | Pour the boiling water over figs and leave it for 10 minutes.

| • | Drain the water and chop the figs.

| • | Now mix a little pectin with about 1/4 cup of sugar.

| • | Take a pot and add 3/4 cup water, sugar, rest of the pectin and figs. Heat it to boil, stir occasionally until sugar dissolves.

| • | Cook rapidly until thick. Stir frequently to avoid sticking.
|
| • | Add lemon juice and the earlier-made pectin-sugar mixture into the fig mixture and cook 1 minute longer.

| • | Pour the mixture into Ball Jars. Allow it to cool and then put it in the refrigerator. |
