Ingredients:
  • 6 pounds Onions (sliced)
  • 4 slices Bacon
  • 1 (16 ounce) container Sour Cream
  • 4 Eggs
  • 2 tbsp All-Purpose Flour
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • ½ tsp Caraway Seeds
  • 1 (9-inch) Single Crust Pie
How to make Zwiebelkuchen:
  • Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Place the crust pie into a jelly-roll pan or a large pizza pan.
  • Place a skillet over fire and fry onions in it, until they turn translucent.
  • Transfer the onions into a large mixing bowl.
  • Place the bacons slices in a large, deep skillet and cook over medium high heat. Cook till they turn evenly brown.
  • Drain the bacon slices and chop them.
  • Add the chopped bacon to the onions and mix well.
  • Add in the sour cream.
  • Beat the eggs and stir in the bacon mixture.
  • Add flour to thicken the mixture.
  • Add salt and mix well.
  • Pour the mixture into the pie crust.
  • Sprinkle with caraway seeds.
  • Bake the pie in the oven for about 1 hour or till the onions start to turn golden brown on top.
  • Serve hot.
