• 3 tbsp Moong Dal
• 3 tbsp Urad Dal
• 3 tbsp Tuvar Dal
• 3 tbsp Chana Dal
• ½ tsp Cumin Seeds
• A pinch of Asafetida
• ½ cup Onions, diced
• 2 Tomatoes, diced
• 1 inch Ginger, chopped
• 2 Green Chilies, chopped
• ½ tsp Turmeric Powder
• ¼ tsp Red Chilli Powder
• ¼ tsp Garam Masala
• 3-1/2 cup Water
• Ghee to fry
• Salt to taste
How to make Mixed Dal:
•
In a large bowl, mix all the dals and wash them properly. Soak the mixed dals in water for about an hour.

In a pressure cooker, heat water and add the mixed dals. Add turmeric powder and salt to it.
•
in a pan, heat ghee and add asafetida and cumin seeds. Once the seeds sputters, add onions, garlic and green chilly and fry for two minute.

Add tomatoes and fry for about a minute till they get mushy. Next, add red chilly powder.
•
Put the above made mixture to the dal. Close the lid of the pressure cooker and cook on low heat till the dal gets soft.

The delicious Mixed Dal is ready to serve with steamed rice or hot rotis.
