• 5 pounds Beef Cubes
• 2 tsp Salt
• 1 tsp White Pepper
• 3 tbsp Butter
• 1 large Onion (sliced)
• ½ cup Water
• 1 cup Cream
• ¾ cup Red Wine
• 2 tbsp Flour
• 3 Garlic Cloves
How to make Oksesteg:
Season meat with salt and white pepper.
Heat butter in frying pan and sauté meat, until brown on both sides.
Transfer into a roasting pan and place onion slices and garlic over it.
Pour in the water, cream, and red wine.
Bake at 320 degrees F until the meat turns tender, for about 3 hours.
Add more red wine if the bottom of the roasting pan dries out.
Transfer into a platter.
Combine the flour with the remaining liquid from roasting pan to make the gravy and pour over the meat.
Serve hot.
