Pierogi Ruskie Recipe

Recipe Type Non Veg.
Ingredients:
  • 2½ cups Wheat Flour
  • 1 Egg
  • Hot Water (as required)

    For The Filling:
  • 5 large boiled Potatoes (mashed)
  • 400 g Cheese
  • 3 medium Onions (chopped)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Pepper (to taste)
How to make Pierogi Ruskie:
  • Heat butter in a pan and fry onions until brown.
  • Add potatoes and cheese. Stir.
  • Flavor with salt and pepper.
  • Combine flour and egg in a bowl. Add enough water to form spongy dough.
  • Compress the dough and cut into circles using glass.
  • Place the cheese filling in the middle and roll up sealing the ends properly.
  • Dip patties into boiling water and boil till they start floating up. Do not let the patties sink to the bottom or stick to each other.
  • Remove and smear some butter on the top.
  • Serve hot with fried onions and diced bacon.
