Ingredients:
  • 300 g Toor Dal
  • 2 Onions (chopped)
  • 2 Potatoes (peeled & cubed)
  • 4 Tomatoes (chopped)
  • 6 Green Chilies (chopped)
  • ½ bunch Coriander (chopped)
  • 1 tsp Sesame Seeds (roasted)
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds (ground)
  • ½ tsp Poppy Seeds (ground)
  • ½ tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp Amchur Powder
  • 3 tbsp Ghee
  • Salt (to taste)
How to make Pigeon Peas:
  • Heat ghee in a pan and fry onions, until golden brown.
  • Stir in sesame seeds, cumin seeds, poppy seeds, and turmeric powder. Fry for 3 minutes.
  • Add tomatoes, green chilies, and coriander. Mix well.
  • Add potatoes, toor dal, and 4 cups water. Mix and cook on medium flame, until cooked & soft.
  • Sprinkle amchur powder and cook for another 5 minutes.
  • Serve hot with boiled rice.
