  • For Pittod:
  • ½ cup Gram Flour
  • 1 cup Water
  • ¼ tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp fresh Green Coriander (chopped)
  • 1 Green Chilly (finely chopped)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • 2 tsp Oil
  • ½ tsp Mustard Seeds
  • For Raita:
  • 2 cups Curd
  • ½ tsp Cumin Powder
  • Few Curry Leaves (optional)
  • ½ tsp Mustard Seeds
  • ½ tsp Sugar (optional)
  • Salt (to taste)
How to make Pittod ka Raita:
  • Combine gram flour, water, turmeric powder, green coriander, green chili and salt together to form a thin batter.
  • Place a pan on fire and heat oil.
  • Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
  • Add the flour batter and mix continuously. Do not allow the batter to stick to the base.
  • Mix for about 5 to 6 minutes till the batter thickens.
  • Grease a flat plate with some oil.
  • Pour the batter on the plate and flatten it to a uniform layer. Keep it aside for 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Slice the batter into small squares.
  • Beat curd in a large bowl.
  • Add salt, sugar and cumin powder.
  • Heat oil in a saucepan.
  • Add mustard seeds and let them crackle.
  • Tip in curry leaves and stir for few moments.
  • Add this mixture to the beaten curd.
  • Finally, add the flour squares to the curd. Stir gently.
  • Serve with missi roti, moong dal puri, stuffed paranthas or simple chapattis.
