Indian Recipes : Plum Chutney Recipe

Ingredients:
• 4 lb Purple prune plums
• 2 lb Apples
• 1 1/2 tsp Ground allspice
• 1 1/2 tsp Ginger
• 1 1/2 Cups White vinegar
• 1 1/2 tsp Cloves
• 1 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
• 1 tbsp Pickling salt
• 4 Cups Brown sugar
How to make Plum Chutney:
Pit and cut the plums.
Put them in a kettle.
Peel off and chop the apples coarsely.
Add these chopped apples to plums. Add vinegar also.
Boil and reduce the flame. Simmer for an hour, stirring the mixture occasionally.
Add spices, salt and sugar.
Bring to boil again. Reduce the flame and simmer.
Cook it uncovered until thickened.
Transfer it into hot canning jars leaving 1/8-inch space.
Seal the jar and process it for about 10 minutes in boiling water bath.
