  • 1 Cup toor dal
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 4 Green chilies chopped
  • 2 Inches ginger grated
  • 2 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 10 Curry leaves
  • 1 tsp Jeera seeds
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • Salt to taste
How to make Thove:
  • Wash toor dal and soak it for 1/2 an hour in warm water.
  • Cook it in a pressure cooker till 5 whistles.
  • Add grated ginger and about 2 cups of water.
  • Heat one tsp of oil and add mustard seeds, chopped green chillies, turmeric, jeera seeds and curry leaves.
  • Mix with dal properly.
  • Add salt to taste.
  • Simmer and cook for another 5 minutes.
  • Add lemon juice.
