might be the quantity of water in the jaggery mixture was less or you might have not cooked this mixture completely to make it thick enough to look like a paste.

Thanks for the recipe. I need a clarification please. I have tried in the same way but once I put it in the oil the flour gets separated. After flattening the dough with hand I have put it in oil. It got separated and couldn't make good adirasam.
