We should take 1 cup curd and 2 glasses of water 660ml) and then mix them beat in a mixer. Add salt and enjoy...

The recipe sounds like recipe for salted lassi. I understand that for buttermilk one needs to use much less curd than what is specified. I am not sure what should be correct ratio of water to curd. Can anyone help please?

Actually this recipe gives just curd. There is more ingredients to add, in or der to get buttermilk. Like onion, chillies, curry leaves, cummin powder. well... I guess it varies from State to State.

I was out of buttermilk so I made this for my cornbread. It was very good and moist. I would rate it as excellent.
