The Tansen Music Festival is held every year in the month of December in Gwalior at Tansen tomb. The tomb is a part of the Gwalior's cultural heritage. Tansen Music Festival is held in the memory of one of the greatest artists in the history, Tansen. He was one of the nine jewels of the court of great ruler of India, Akbar. Well known Indian classical singers gather at the tomb during the Tansen Festival and perform for five night-long sessions. Tansen Utsav and Tansen Sangeet Sammelan are other names for the same event. The festival provides the connoisseurs of the classical music with the best possible music.
