  • Sardine Fish
  • Thick Coconut Milk
  • 12 Shallots (chopped)
  • 4 Green Chillies
  • Small piece of Ginger (chopped)
  • 8 Methi Seeds
  • 2 ½ tsp Red Chilly Powder
  • ½ tsp Turmeric Powder
  • ½ tsp Fennel Seed Powder
  • 3 Cocum
  • Coconut Oil
  • Few Curry Leaves (chopped)
  • Salt to taste
How to make Challa:
  • Slice the fish into pieces.
  • Soak the cocum in salted water for around 5 min.
  • Heat oil in a pan and fry the methi seeds until it turns into brown.
  • Put in onion, green chillies, ginger and fry it until it turns brown.
  • Pour into coconut milk, chilly powder, turmeric powder, fennel seed powder & salt to taste and simmer it on high flame.
  • Stir in fish and cook it covered on medium flame until curry thickens.
  • Add on curry leaves.
  • Serve it hot.
