This dish is generally made during Bakrid and is famous for the authentic gravy that the mutton is cooked in. The feeling that you are left with after eating Mutton Gravy is nothing less than heaven.

Ingredients:
  • 1 lb Mutton
  • 1 Onion
  • 3 Tomatoes
  • 1 tsp Whole Pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 4 Garlic pods
  • Small piece of Ginger
  • 2 tsp Coriander Powder
  • Few curry Leaves
  • Coriander Leaves
  • 4 Red Chillies
  • 3 cups Water
  • 2 tsp Oil
  • Salt to taste
How to make Mutton Gravy:
  • Blend together tomatoes, ginger, red chillies, garlic, pepper and cumin seeds in a food processor until fine and smooth paste is formed.
  • Boil mutton and onion with water in a pressure cooker upto 2 whistles.
  • Allow cooling and add the prepared paste in the cooker.
  • Stir-in salt, curry leaves, oil, coriander powder and coriander leaves.
  • Simmer over low flame until gravy is thick.
  • Mutton Gravy is ready. Serve it with rice or chapatis.
