  • 100 g Butter
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 150 ml Castor Sugar
  • 200 ml Plain Flour
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 50 ml Milk

    For Topping
  • 100 g Butter
  • 100 ml Castor Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Plain Flour
  • 2 tbsp Milk
  • 100 g Flaked Almonds
How to make Tosca Cake:
  • Grease and flour a 24-cm round baking dish.
  • Beat eggs and castor sugar until white and fluffy.
  • Mix plain flour and baking powder together.
  • Stir the flour mixture into the eggs.
  • Add in the milk and butter. Beat well.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  • Bake in the oven at 350°F (175 °C), for 20 to 25 minutes.
  • Combine butter, castor sugar, flour, milk and flaked almonds in a saucepan.
  • Heat and stir well, until the mixture thickens.
  • Remove the cake and spread the topping over the cake, using a spatula.
  • Bake the cake for another 15 minutes, till the topping turns golden and gets a little caramelized.
