Ingredients:
  • 1 cup raw Rice
  • 1 cup Jaggery
  • Little Dry Coconut (chopped)
  • 2 tbsp Ghee
  • ½ tsp Cardamom Powder
  • ½ tsp Baking Powder
  • 2 ripe Bananas
  • 1 tsp Oil
How to make Unniappam:
  • Soak rice in water for 2-4 hours. Drain it.
  • Grind soaked rice, baking soda, and bananas together, adding some water.
  • Add jaggery and grind again.
  • Heat ghee in a pan and fry coconut until golden brown.
  • Mix coconut and cardamom with ground rice.
  • Oil an appam pan and fill each portion with the rice mixture. Cook on both sides until golden brown.
  • Serve hot.
