Ingredients:
  • For the Halvah:
  • 3 cups Farina or Wheat Cream
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 cup Butter
  • 4 Eggs (separated)
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • ½ cup slivered Almonds (blanched)

    For the Syrup:
  • 2½ cups Sugar
  • 3 cups Water
  • 1 stick Cinnamon
  • 2 whole Cloves
How to make Baked Halvah:
  • Mix farina with cinnamon and set aside.
  • Beat butter in a bowl.
  • In another bowl, beat egg yolks with sugar until thick.
  • Add to the butter and beat thoroughly.
  • Add egg whites and beat until stiff.
  • Whisk farina into the butter-egg mixture.
  • Add almonds and mix gently.
  • Pour into a buttered pan. Bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees F oven for 45 minutes.
  • Prepare the syrup by boiling the syrup ingredients for 8 minutes.
  • Throw away the cinnamon and cloves.
  • Pour the syrup over hot halvah.
  • Cool and serve.
