Ingredients:
  • 1/3 cup Peanut Butter (reduced fat)
  • 1½ cup Flour (all-purpose)
  • 2/3 cup Apple Sauce (unsweetened)
  • ¾ cup Baking Cocoa
  • ¾ Egg Substitute
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 2 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • ½ tsp Salt

    For Filling
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • ¼ cup Egg Substitute
  • ¼ cup Sugar
  • 3 oz. Cream Cheese (reduced fat and softened)
  • 1/3 cup Peanut Butter (reduced fat)

    For Frosting
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 2 tbsp Baking Cocoa
  • 2 tbsp Milk
  • 1 cup Confectioners’ Sugar
  • 1 tsp Water
How to make Peanut Butter Brownies:
  • Mix flour, sugar, cocoa and salt.
  • Mix in the apple sauce and continue stirring.
  • Pour half of the batter into a greased pan of 13in x 9in x 2in size
  • Mix the filling ingredients and beat until smooth.
  • Add to the dough.
  • Stir the dough with a ‘cut and fold’ rhythm.
  • Once the dough is smooth, place it in oven, to bake at 325 deg F, for 25 to 30 minutes.
  • Bake until the center is set and the edges are firm
  • Once done, cool on wire rack
  • Mix the frosting ingredients in a small bowl and spread over brownies for final touch.
