Broccoli Chicken Recipe

Ingredients:
  • 1 pound Chicken Breasts, boneless & skinless
  • 1 tsp Cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp Water
  • 4 tbsp Oil
  • 2 cups Oil, for frying

    To Velvet Chicken
  • 1 large Egg White
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch
  • ¼ tsp Salt

    For Sauce
  • 2 tbsp Oyster Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Light Soy Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Dark Soy Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Water

    To Cook Broccoli
  • 1 pound Broccoli
  • ½ cup Water
  • ¼ tsp Salt, or to taste
  • ½ tsp Granulated Sugar, or to taste
  • 2 Garlic Cloves, crushed
How to make Broccoli Chicken:
  • Wash the chicken breasts and cut into 1 inch pieces.
  • Take a bowl and add egg white, cornstarch and salt in it. Mix it well.
  • Add this egg white mixture to the chicken pieces and toss well, so that the egg white mixture sticks to them.
  • Keep this velveted mixture in a sealed container in the fridge, for 30 minutes.
  • In the meantime, prepare the sauce by taking a bowl and mixing together the oyster sauce, light soy, dark soy, and water. Keep it aside.
  • Take a small bowl and mix cornstarch along with water. Keep it aside.
  • Wash the broccoli nicely and then chop it into thin slices.
  • Take a heavy bottomed pan and heat 2 cup of oil in it. It should be hot enough to let the chicken cube float instantly.
  • Now, put the chicken cubes in the pan and fry till they turn white. Drain them on the paper towel to remove excess oil.
  • Heat 2 tbsp oil in another heavy bottomed pan.
  • Add crushed garlic and fry for a minute.
  • Now, put broccoli in it, along with salt and sugar and fry it for a minute.
  • Put ½ cup water in it and cover. Cook broccoli for about 5 minutes.
  • When cooked, empty the pan and drain.
  • Heat the pan again and put 2 tbsp oil in it.
  • Now, put broccoli and chicken in it and stir well.
  • Add the sauce and cornstarch mixture in the middle of and mix it, quickly to let it thicken.
  • Mix everything together and serve with hot rice.
