Ingredients:
• 1½ cup Masoor Dal
• ½ tsp Turmeric Powder
• 4 Green Chilies
• 2 pods Garlic, minced
• 1 tbsp Coriander Leaves
• 5 Curry Leaves
• Salt, to taste
• 2 tsp Lemon Juice
• 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
• 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
• 2 tsp Ghee
• ¼ tsp Asofetida (hing)
How to make Dal Tadka:
•
Wash and drain the dal and then put it in the pressure cooker, along with turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp salt and water. Make sure that the dal is not over cooked.
•
Now, take a non stick pan and heat ghee in it. Add cumin seeds, curry leaves and mustard seeds to it.
•
When the seeds start to splutter, put asofetida, green chilies and garlic and fry for a minute.
•
Now, add cooked dal and salt in the prepared tadka and fry for 4 to 5 minutes.
•
Sprinkle lemon juice on top.
•
Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with chapattis and rice.
