  • 1 cup Split Green Gram Skinless (Dhuli moong dal)
  • 2 tbsp Rice Flour (Chaawala kaa aattaa)
  • 3/4 cup Jaggery (Gur)
  • 3 medium Sweet Potatoes
  • 6 tbsp Ghee
  • 1/2 tsp Green Cardamom Powder
How to make Mooger Puli:
  • In a wok (kadhai), dry roast the moong dal till light brown. Now add two cups of hot water to it and cook till done.
  • In a pan, heat 3 tablespoon of ghee and add the boiled dal and sauté for a while.
  • Now add the rice flour and jaggery to it and mix well. Cook till the jaggery melts.
  • Add the mashed sweet potatoes to it and cook till dry.
  • Remove from heat and transfer the contents in a big bowl and allow it to cool.
  • Add green cardamom powder to it and mix well.
  • Now roll out small cylindrical shaped pulis from the mixture.
  • In a wok (kadhai), heat ghee and fry the pulis till golden brown.
  • Drain and absorb the excess oil.
  • Serve hot.
