structure of the country here. China's education system has four
components:
Basic education,
Occupational or polytechnic education,
Common higher education, and
Adult education.
Basic education in China comprises of pre-school
education, primary education, junior education and senior middle
schooling.
Occupational and Polytechnic Education in China comprises
of medium-level professional schools, polytechnic schools,
occupational middle schools as well as short-term occupational and
technical training programs of various forms.
Common Higher Education in China comprises of junior
college, bachelor's, master's and doctoral degree programs. Junior
college programs usually last for two or three years, bachelor's
programs last for four to five years and the duration of master's
program in China is two to three years of study. Final stage of
China's education system offers doctoral degree, which is usually
completed by minimum of three years duration.
Adult education in China comprises of schooling
education, anti-illiteracy education and other programs oriented to
adult groups. The adult education category in China generally
overlaps all three of the above categories. Adult secondary
education schools incorporate radio and television for the
educational training to their adult students.
