You should note that the cost of living outside the city limits of Rome are considerably less. The only disadvantage is that you will need to travel to the city every day.

However, for all these options the rents cover only the accommodation. If you want to experience the lifestyle and traditional food of the Romans, it's best to stay with a family as a paying guest.
