Universidad Juárez del Estado de Durango

The Juarez University of Durango State is one of the most prominent public higher education centers in Mexico. It was established in the Durango state of Mexico. The institution was started off with religious views but showed a critical spirit as far as the religious thoughts of the Jesuits went. The institution is named after the former Mexican President Benito Juarez. In the year 1900, the University formed its first Alumni society, Juarez. In the year 1938, it was incorporated as the University of Mexico and adopted the theme "Race Will Speak My Mind". The establishment was formerly known as Instituto Juarez and offered programs in law, commerce, nursing, music and painting. Later, in March 1957, as per the decree published by the governor, the establishment rose as a University and has been called the Juarez University of Durango State since then. In 1970, the University founded the Institute of Scientific Research (UJED) for conducting programs in research. The organization is highly bound to serving the society and sticks strictly to social ethics. Juarez del Estado de Durango organizes reform programs for the improvement of education.
