Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha or the UCLM,
recognized by law in June 1982, offers educational activities in
diversified areas. The university was established with the merger of
centres which corresponded to other university institutions and newly
created centres. It has relations with other international institutions
of higher learning and promotes international study and teaching
opportunities for the university community. University Castilla-La
Mancha is divided into separate academic centres located in different
cities and international relation offices are located in each of the
university campuses.
Campuses
Four campuses of the university are Albacete, Ciudad Real, Cuenca and
Toledo. All these campuses together form the University of Castilla-La
Mancha, which also offers courses in Almadén, Talavera de la
Reina, and Puertollano. The university extends to the cities of Almadén
and Talavera de la Reina. This university which came to be recognised by
law on 39th June 1982, had begun operating three years previously.
All four campuses operate on a decentralised basis. However, the main
governing body is located in Ciudad Real, which coordinates the other
three campuses. University courses are held at all four locations.
Study Programmes
Albacete Campus
The Albacete campus of Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha houses
faculties of Medicine, Economic and Business Sciences, Law and
Humanities. The School of Agronomical Engineering, the Higher
Polytechnic School, a School of Nursing, Teacher Training and Employment
Relations are also located in Albacete campus.
Ciudad Real Campus
Ciudad Real houses the Faculties of Chemical Sciences, Law and Social
Sciences, Arts, the Higher Technical Schools of Civil Engineering,
Information Technology, Industrial Engineering, a Technical Institute of
Agriculture, the Polytechnic University School, and a University School
of Nursing.
Puertollano Campus
Puertollano campus houses faculties of Social Sciences, Fine Art,
Educational Science and Humanities, Polytechnic University School of
Technical Architecture, Polytechnic University School of IT in
Telecommunications, Nursing, Teacher Training and Social Work.
Toledo Campus
Toledo holds the faculties of Legal and Social Sciences, Environmental
Science, Sports Science, Humanities, Nursing and Physiotherapy,
Industrial Technical Engineering, and Teacher Training.
