Autonoma Universidad Madrid or Autonomous University
of Madrid, founded in 1968, offers education to approximate 36,000
students. The University has five main departments: Science; Political
Science; Economics; Law; and Philosophy. In addition to these, it has
administrative services; a sports center; the Institute of Educational
Sciences, Music and Languages; and a primary school. It is part of one
of Spain's most ambitious education programmes. The university is also
popularly known as AUM Madrid. UAM prides itself for synchronizing
diversity and quality of education with excellent research. The
university offers a wide range of disciplines from philosophy to
medicine.
AUM Madrid Study Programmes
Foreign students can choose among the plethora of programmes available
in Autonoma Universidad Madrid. They could apply for Doctorates,
Masters, Bachelors and other Degrees in various subjects. However, the
university has put criteria for inducting foreign students.
Students can take classes in the disciplines: Biology, Physics,
Chemistry, Mathematics, Law, Political Science, Public Policy, Spanish,
French, English, Arab, Philosophy, Geography, History, Art History,
Computer Science, MIS, Psychology, Anthropology, Business Administration
and Economics. UAM Madrid also offers a summer programme entitled "Course
of Spanish Language and culture for foreigners".

AUM Madrid Campus
Autonoma Universidad Madrid has three campuses: Cantoblanco, Madrid and
La Cristalera. Most of university's facilities are located in
Cantoblanco campus. Important faculties of the university like
Philosophy & Liberal Arts, Business Management, Science, Law,
Economics, Humanities and Polytechnic are located here. The campus also
houses many research facilities partnered with The Spanish Scientific
Research Council. Buses and commuter trains provide quick and cheap
transportation between downtown and the university campus.
Madrid facility holds the faculty of medicine while La Cristalera
campus is used for conferences and meetings. It is also the main centre
of UAM's summer courses. The University has a number of associated
centres in different regions of Madrid.
